So, a few weeks ago I went to my local second hand shop as I always do. Straight to the vinyl section cause I don't need another cellphone and I don't think I'd ever want to buy a second hand couch, ever. They have about six crates of nothing but... let's say, other stuff. I actually never realised how much afrikaans records were put out until that moment. Anyway, I'm obviously hoping for a Michael Jackson collectable here but all I can see is a shit load of Beatles and Elvis. Something that looks like one persons' collection of youth dumped at one cash converters for whatever reason. Anyhow, no MJ. I'm obviously bored out of my mind by this time and as I'm about to call it a day, bam! or more accurately Matt Monro, now I only know this dude from "Watch the girls go byeeeeeee" but he got a killer voice so, R10 to the till and I'm out. Got home and just stashed the thing and went about my way. This was about 3 weeks ago, so, today, inbetween unfished renders, website updates and rehearsals I decide to put this thing on. First track on side 2 is "All my loving" killerful tune and the rest on that side are alright till you get to "Start living". But the highlight for me has to be "My friend, my friend", WOW! check it out, the record is called "I have dreamed"

Now, go eat your veggies and keep it movin, pimpin!

What up. Record rehearsals start in 2 weeks. Got a tech person to handle one of the laptops, a guitarist and drummist to play with, so I did some sterm mixes and exported them over and I'll only handle the synths and voice programming.
Pics from Cape Town coming up later today. Tell you more later.

One thing I hate nearly as much as avocado is slow internet. F @ c k !

Reality - check
Story board - check

Cape Town was as peace as heavy metal fender benders. The show swell as ass-wells or S-curls and I came to a conclusion. If your voice screwed up, leave the hook to the crowd. Peace Cape Town. Props to P.O.L Its back to the drawing board with drowning swords, spread sheets and brief cases, filling penny holes and manufacturing shoe string laces.

Peace. Info coming up on coming things, some time this week. see some Cape Town stuff here: (http://www.facebook.com/pages/Johnny-Cradle/33776121073?ref=ts)

A holiday: to still wake up before 6am but do whatever it is you want. Like update this blog. Plan friday nights' set. waste more than an hour browsing the internet for no particular reason. yes. Those of you in Cape Town on friday evening, catch us live at the new space theatre for this said live thing. after that maybe join us for a drink... of water and maybe I'll give you a copy of the not yet recorded forthcoming JC LP.
I have no particular act I'm interested in seeing at the Jazz Fest but I'm there like the rest of you, and on that note.......

31.03 08h36

A cliche: A black man with hobo-ish dreadlocks walking around the airport with a bunch of keyboards and shit.

Incase you didn know. We're are on the P.O.L at New Space Theatre (Long str, Cape Town) this friday evening. Got new stuff (a.k.a forgive if I screw up lines while at it... not that you'd notice with all that gibberish talk).

Keep it peace and I guess I'll see some of you when I get to CT, assuming I don't fall out the window or sumin...

22.03 - 08h03

It's March something and we're moving ahead with the album do.
Excel spreadsheet quotes and eything.
"how do you insert a blank column here and get the total amounts to add up?" Get one of your smarty pants friends to do it for you, that's how.

******* added a mean guitar solo to one of the songs last weekend and
I'm thinking of calling him up to polish up another with his classical guitar stuff. Still no album art yet, but we're working on that. I should prably get on with that story board now...

Cape Town folk catch us at the New Space Theatre on Long Street on April 2nd, Details on the homepage.

Fable!

25.02 - 17h11

As you may know, I have been writing the new record.
Glad to say, the writing is now finished... i hope.
Been doing lots of the much needed but equally boring emailing and phone calling,
getting dates and like sorted. Haven't even started thinking about the artwork, but it'll come.

Keep peace.

Man, can you believe this dream. My friend has a Yamaha CS80 in his garage.
So, I'm like "duuuuuuuuuuude, you know what that shit IIIIIIIIIIS?"
He jus looks at me like "what the wha?"

So we dig it out from under a pile of I don't know whats, and his dad walks in
and starts telling me about how he tuned it up, and how its a one of its kind and all sorts of good things.
And all this time me I'm thinking of ways I can ask him if I could buy it... a.k.a have it,
cause after all..you know... it's not like they were actly using it and all... I mean, it was in a dream.

fuck video rendering times, man.
In any event, check out a few clips of the knew stuff before it went into the studio for the much needed mean clean analog gear sheen.

21h13 - 18.01.10

What up. I went off to Sound & Motion to track some vocals for the new record this past saturday. We spent a lot of that while being late, checking different mics and recorded a new song. But you don't hear me though!

Best, Johnny amaCradle

So. we've been black-out eskom style and woke
up in a different city, figure...
You're probably not wondering why the websites' been down,
so I won't bother telling.

I almost did a short performance on long street,
CTN two weeks ago but the crowd nearly
earth/floor quaked the venue down so we had to pack up and get drunk instead.
The other acts carried on with their thing next door, so shots to them.
Peace to the Skom guys for the invite.

You will see the tracks posted up on the player page and wonder what the hey happened
to the other two...? well, they got lost with the rest of things we lost in the fire.
I'll have to wait and see if my insurance will cover lost music, and if so then I'll add those up
if and when they get replaced.

Someone asked me if I have any hard copies of the record...
"you know, an actual CD with cover art and lyrics and stuff".
and the answer is no, sorry. If you are interested in the album art or the lyrics though,
you can subscribe to the site and we'll mail you a copy of a .pdf with the artwork
and the words to the songs, along with a download link to a three part video thing,
hell, we'll also throw in a freshly baked blueberry muffin and a grande latte.

And now, for some interesting news...
